Wedding Dance of Andy Nugroho & Esther Melinda - 19 Jan 2008

News Summary:

Andy & Melinda just performed their Slow Waltz wedding dance back in their home town in Indonesia recently and received beautiful comments from their wedding guests. As their Trainers, Robin and Pele are very proud of their achievement as this wedding couple shows very good promise right from the start to be fabulous ballroom dancers in time to come, both from their determination and wonderful attitude towards giving their best performance on their most important day of their life together!

Not only did they start weekly group lessons 10 months before their wedding, at times they even took 2 group lessons of different dances within a day to horn their dancing skills, not to mention coming back for practice nites and extra private lessons to choreograph the uplifting introduction and emotional finale based just on their chosen song played by their violinist sister and sung by Melinda's loving father live!

Both also took our advice and enrolled for a Pre-Beginner Waltz Event Competition in Oct 2007 and subsequently claimed that it helped to make them aware of how the stress level could affect their actual day performance and the amount of preparation needed to give a good show. Both wanted to start learning early as they wanted a fantastic choreography with lots of lifts/spins which are difficult to master and danced to smoothness & perfection so they were committed right from the start. It would be an honour to post 1-2 photos and upload our email contents onto RpMerleon website. =) As promised, here are our wedding dance photos. I hope they look quite ok for you. Hehehehe....

We've tried our best and many people said that the dance was beautiful. We were proud about it because we had managed to finish the dance in spite of all the unexpected circumstances that happened especially the dance floor. As you noticed, it's covered with white powder, it's oval in shape and smaller than the size we requested. The floor surface was uneven and a bit rough. Thanks to your advice, we poured powder all over to make it more slippery. yes it's over powderful!! The restaurant's staff poured too much. Fortunately, Andy could still manage to pivot and lift me without falling.

We'll come back for lessons once we have settled our new home. Right now, we're still very busy to take care of the renovation.

P.S. Readers please note that the fantastic lifts/spins will not be taught to wedding couples with less than 2½ months' lessons before wedding as your posture/muscles take time and effort to develope & tone-up else sprains or dislocated joints might happen resulting in no wedding dance on a painful wedding day!
